What Is a Couples Massage?
A couples massage is two individual massages given at the same time in the same room, by two therapists. It is not a different technique: each of you receives a full professional treatment, tailored to you, while lying next to the other person.
“Couples” simply means two people. Partners book it most often, but so do friends, a parent and adult child, sisters, or two colleagues celebrating together.
It is also different from a partner massage class, where a therapist teaches two people to massage each other. In a couples massage, neither of you does any work.
How It Works at Home
Booking
Message +44 7460 672100 on WhatsApp at any hour. Tell us both names, the address, the session length, each person’s treatment and therapist preference, and any health conditions for either of you. Payment in full confirms both therapists.
Arrival
Both therapists arrive together and set up two Earthlite tables next to each other, with fresh linen and towels on each.
Two consultations
Each therapist speaks to their own client about pressure, focus areas, health and allergies, so nothing is assumed from the other person’s answers.
Privacy to undress
Both therapists step out while you get onto the tables under the towels.
Side by side
The therapists keep to a matched pace, so you turn over at about the same time and both massages finish together.
Afterwards
The therapists pack up quietly, leaving the two of you to rest.
You can talk quietly, hold hands across the gap between the tables, or both drift off. There is no right way to do it.
Choose a Different Massage Each
Your treatments do not have to match. Each of you can choose any of our individual massages:

Pairings that work well include deep tissue for one and Swedish for the other, or sports massage after a race for one and hot oil for the other. If either of you chooses aromatherapy, remember the other person will smell it too. Thai massage may need floor space for a mat as well as a table; tell us when you book.
Why Two Therapists, Not One?
A couples massage needs two therapists so that both of you are treated at the same time. With one therapist, the massages would run back to back: one of you would wait, and the session would take twice as long. Two therapists also means each of you gets someone focused only on you, with their own consultation, pressure checks and choice of male or female therapist. That is why the couples price is exactly double the single rate.
Space You Will Need
Each Earthlite Infinity table measures roughly 1.85 m by 0.81 m at its widest point, and each therapist needs room to walk all the way round theirs. For two tables in one room, plan on roughly 4 m by 3.5 m of clear floor.

Let the front desk know that two therapists are coming, with their arrival time, so they are sent straight up.

A couples massage at home is as much about the evening as the treatment. A few simple touches help:
Warmth
Turn the heating up a little before the therapists arrive.
Light
Lamps or candles rather than overhead lights. Keep candles well away from the tables and towels.
Quiet
Phones on silent and notifications off for both of you.
Food
Eat lightly beforehand and save a proper meal for afterwards.
Water
Have a glass ready for each of you for when you get up.
Comfort
Dressing gowns or something soft to put on afterwards, so you can stay relaxed.
Safety for Two
The health guidance for each treatment applies to each of you individually. Tell us when you book if either of you:
- is pregnant, so we can advise on suitable treatments and positioning;
- has a recent injury, recent surgery, a blood clotting condition or takes blood-thinning medication;
- has epilepsy, high blood pressure or asthma and is considering aromatherapy;
- has reduced feeling in the skin and is considering hot oil;
- has any allergy, including to nuts or essential oils.
If one of you is unwell on the day, contact us as early as possible; you can reschedule free of charge up to 12 hours before the appointment.

How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can, especially for Friday and Saturday evenings and occasions such as Valentine's Day, because two therapists need to be free at the same time. Same-day bookings are possible when two therapists are available near you.
Can we book a couples massage at an Airbnb or short-let flat?
Yes, anywhere you are staying in London. Send us any entry codes, key-safe details or parking instructions with the booking.
Can I book a couples massage as a surprise?
Yes. Book it in your name, then tell your partner on the day. If it is for two other people, give us their address and confirm they will be home at the booked time.
Can our children be at home during the massage?
Yes, as long as another adult is looking after them in a different room. Both of you will relax more if you are not listening out for them.
Can we book more than two people?
Message us to ask. A group booking depends on how many therapists are free at the same time and on the space you have.
Should we shower first?
It is a nice idea if there is time, but not essential. Shower afterwards if you want to wash off the oil, or simply stay where you are.
