Outcall, Home and Mobile Massage: What the Terms Mean
Outcall massage, home massage and mobile massage all describe one service: a qualified therapist travels to you rather than you travelling to a clinic or spa. “Outcall” (sometimes written “out call”) is the industry term, the opposite of “incall”, where the client visits the therapist’s premises. “Home massage” describes where most treatments take place. “Mobile massage” describes how the therapist works, carrying a portable table and kit across the city.
The treatment is the same one you would receive in a spa treatment room. What changes is everything around it. There is no journey across London before or after, no waiting room, and no getting dressed to travel home once your muscles have finally let go. You can book late at night after a long shift, early before a flight, or on a Sunday without planning around opening times.
Where You Can Have Your Massage
At home
A house or flat, in whichever room gives the therapist space to work.
In a hotel room
A hotel massage at any London hotel, from a central boutique stay to an airport hotel near Heathrow.
In a serviced apartment or short-let
For business trips, relocations and longer stays in the city.
Massage Treatments Available at Home
Every treatment below is available as an outcall massage across London. If you are unsure which one suits you, describe how you feel when you message us and we will recommend one.
The classic full-body massage. Long gliding strokes (effleurage), kneading (petrissage) and gentle friction are applied with oil at light to medium pressure. It is the natural choice for a first massage or for simply switching off after a demanding week.
Slow, firm pressure worked into the deeper layers of muscle and the surrounding connective tissue (fascia). It suits persistent tightness, such as shoulders and lower back stiffened by long hours at a desk. It can feel intense, so tell your therapist whenever you want the pressure adjusted. Some people feel tender for a day or two afterwards.
Focused work on the muscle groups you train, combining deep strokes with stretching. A brisker session before an event helps you feel warmed up; a slower one after training or a race helps you feel loose again. Runners, cyclists, footballers and regular gym-goers book it as part of their routine.
A traditional technique performed without oil while you wear loose, comfortable clothing. Your therapist applies rhythmic pressure with palms, thumbs and elbows along the body’s energy lines (sen), then moves you through assisted, yoga-like stretches. Many clients find it leaves them feeling energised rather than sleepy.
A gentle, flowing massage using an essential-oil blend chosen for its scent as much as its feel. We use Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Massage & Body Oil, which blends arnica, lavender, rosemary and ginger.
Body oil is warmed to a comfortable temperature before it is applied. The warmth spreads as the strokes glide, which many clients find especially soothing on a cold London evening. The pressure can be gentle or firm, as you prefer.
Two therapists treat you and your partner side by side, at the same time and in the same room, each with their own table. You can each choose a different massage and pressure. It is a popular way to mark an anniversary or birthday, or to finish a weekend hotel stay in London.

You do not need to provide anything except space. Each therapist arrives with a complete professional kit:
| Item | What we use | Why it matters |

| Body oil | Les Exclusifs de Chanel Huile Corps | A jojoba and meadowfoam seed oil that leaves skin with a soft, luminous finish |
| Aromatherapy oil | Aromatherapy Associates De-Stress Massage & Body Oil | The essential-oil blend used in every aromatherapy massage |
| Body creams | Augustinus Bader The Body Cream and Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Body Cream | Rich creams for clients who prefer cream to oil, or who want skin left deeply moisturised |
| Towels | The White Company Spa Turkish cotton towels (800 GSM) | The brand's heaviest towel: thick, absorbent 100% cotton for draping and warmth |
| Table linen | 100% linen spa sheeting from Secret Linen Store and Linen-Me | Breathable natural linen that stays comfortable throughout the session |
If you have an allergy or sensitivity to any ingredient, mention it while booking and your therapist will choose a suitable alternative from the kit.
Hygiene: Fresh Linen and Sanitised Equipment for Every Client
Hygiene standards in your home should match those of a hotel spa, so every booking follows the same routine.
Freshly laundered linen and towels for every client
Nothing is reused between bookings.
Linen free of oil residue
Linen is pre-treated with HG Laundry Pre-Treat Stain Remover Extra Strong, then washed with Best of Nature Oil Be Gone, a spa laundry detergent designed to lift massage-oil residue so sheets never smell stale.
Sanitised table and equipment
The table and all kit are wiped down with Bower Collective All-Purpose Sanitiser before and after each treatment.
Clean hands throughout
Therapists sanitise their hands on arrival and between stages of the treatment with Proverb’s refillable organic sanitiser spray (wild peppermint and lavender).

What Happens During Your Home Massage
Arrival and set-up
Your therapist arrives at the confirmed time, sets up the table and dresses it with fresh linen while you get comfortable.
Consultation
Before you lie down, your therapist asks about your health, any injuries, allergies, the areas you want worked on and the pressure you like. This is the moment to mention anything that could affect your treatment.
The treatment
Your therapist steps out while you undress and settle under a towel. Only the area being massaged is uncovered at any time. Check in about pressure whenever you like; the session is yours to direct.
Afterwards
Your therapist packs away the table and takes all used linen with them. There is nothing to clean up and nowhere to go: have a glass of water and stay exactly where you are.
Professional boundaries
Outcall Massage London provides strictly professional, non-sexual therapeutic massage. Any inappropriate request or behaviour ends the session immediately.

About Outcall Massage London
Outcall Massage London was founded in 2022 by Harry, a therapist trained in sports massage at the London School of Sports Massage who went on to work in London spas and hotels. The business grew from an observation made in those roles: hotel guests and busy professionals wanted spa-standard massage without travelling to a spa. Frequently Asked Questions
How much space do I need for a home massage?
The table is 185 cm long and up to 81 cm wide, and your therapist needs room to move around it. Allow a clear area of roughly 3 m by 2.5 m. For a couples massage, allow room for two tables side by side. If your therapist brings the heated Vibra-Therm table, they will need a nearby plug socket.
How should I prepare for my massage?
Shower beforehand if you can, and avoid a heavy meal in the hour or two before your session. Keep the room comfortably warm, put pets in another room, and let us know about door codes, lifts or parking restrictions when you book.
What do I wear, and will I be covered?
For oil and cream treatments, most people undress to their underwear, but how much you remove is entirely your choice. Thai massage is the exception: you stay dressed.
How quickly can a therapist reach me?
We take bookings 24 hours a day. Arrival time depends on your location and therapist availability, and we confirm it when you book. For a specific time, such as straight after a flight lands, book ahead.
Can I book a massage in my hotel room?
Yes. Give us the hotel name and your room number when you book. Some hotels ask visitors to sign in at reception, so let the front desk know a therapist is coming and share the therapist's name if they ask.
Can I book if I am pregnant or have a medical condition?
Tell us when you book if you are pregnant or have a recent injury, a recent operation, a history of blood clots, a skin condition, or take blood-thinning medication. Some treatments and essential oils are not suitable in these situations. Your therapist will adapt the session or, where needed, ask you to check with your GP first.
How long should my massage be?
Sixty minutes suits a full-body relaxation massage or focused work on one area, such as neck and shoulders. Ninety minutes allows a full-body treatment with extra time on problem areas. Two hours gives an unhurried session and is a good length for Thai massage.
What is your cancellation policy?
Full payment is taken when you book. Cancel or reschedule at least 12 hours before your appointment for a full refund or a free change of time. Cancellations within 12 hours, and not being at the address when your therapist arrives, are non-refundable. If we ever have to cancel, you receive a full refund. Read the full cancellation and refund policy.
