It was founded in 2022 by Harry, a sports massage therapist trained at the London School of Sports Massage who spent his early career in London’s spas and hotels. Harry's Story
Where it began
I grew up in the United Kingdom with a strong interest in physical wellbeing, sport and the way movement and recovery are connected. Like many people, I spent time unsure which career was right for me. What I did know was that I wanted work that made a real difference to people’s lives.
That interest kept leading me back to the same place: helping people release physical tension, recover after demanding activity and find relief from everyday stress. Massage therapy started as a curiosity and became a professional ambition.
Training at the London School of Sports Massage
I soon realised that real professionalism takes more than enthusiasm. I trained at the London School of Sports Massage to build a proper understanding of muscle function, recovery and body mechanics, and of how to adapt every treatment to the person on the table.
Training also taught me that technique is only half the job. Communication, respect for privacy and a reassuring environment matter just as much. A client who feels at ease relaxes; a client who doesn’t, can’t.
Working in London's spas and hotels
My career then took me into London’s spa and hospitality industry, where the standards are exacting. I learned that clients remember more than the treatment itself. They remember how they were welcomed, how carefully their needs were handled, and whether the experience felt professional from start to finish.
Those years made punctuality, cleanliness, attention to detail and respectful communication second nature. They also showed me how differently people use massage: some to unwind after a stressful day, others as part of their wellbeing or recovery routine. There were long days and high expectations, and times I questioned whether I was progressing fast enough. I learned patience, and to treat every difficult moment as something to learn from.
The gap I couldn't ignore
Working in spas and hotels, I kept seeing the same thing. People valued a professional spa treatment but did not always have the time or flexibility to travel to one. Busy professionals, hotel guests and anyone with a demanding schedule wanted the same quality of massage without leaving the place where they were already comfortable.
That observation changed how I thought about my future. Could I build a service that kept spa standards but brought them to a client’s home or hotel room? The idea was simple; making it work was not. It meant understanding customer expectations, managing costs, earning a reputation and building a reliable way to deliver every booking. I had doubts about whether I was ready for that risk. I also knew that if I wanted to build something of my own, I would have to step outside my comfort zone.
Founding the company in 2022
In 2022, I founded Outcall Massage London. Running a company brought a completely new set of responsibilities. Beyond the quality of each massage, I now had to think about the brand, finding clients, daily operations, service standards and the financial realities of a business.
The beginning was hard. Trust takes time to build, and bookings did not always arrive as quickly as I hoped. Some periods forced me to rethink my approach entirely. I learned that a good idea guarantees nothing on its own: a business needs discipline, patience, sound decisions and the willingness to change course when something isn’t working. Through all of it, I held on to the idea that started everything: professional massage, made convenient, without lowering the standard.
What building a business taught me
Progress rarely comes as fast as you want, and sometimes the most important step is simply to keep improving when results aren’t yet visible. I have learned to value consistency over shortcuts and long-term trust over quick wins. Mistakes don’t define you; what matters is recognising them, learning from them and moving forward.
Those lessons are why I believe a wellness service has to rest on four things: professionalism, reliability, respect and genuine care for the client.
